Why You Will Get Rejected
I’ve reviewed dozens of rejected UK Global Talent Visa applications.
Here is the number one reason people get rejected:
Lack of a public profile.
Yes, you might have been very productive at work and brought a lot of value to your employer.
However, to be awarded Mandatory Criteria (Leadership), you need to show sustained national or international recognition as a digital technology leader.
Here are some quotes from actual rejection letters:
1️⃣ “The candidate has not built a sustained national or international reputation, and there is little external validation such as awards, public profile, or evidence of leading a company.”
2️⃣ “The candidate must demonstrate through evidence—such as high-profile references, media coverage specifically recognising the candidate, high-profile speaking engagements where the candidate has been selected and singled out as a leading expert in their field, etc.—that they have been uniquely recognised as a leader in their field.”
3️⃣ “The applicant does not show any sustained recognition by way of reputed national or international awards. The applicant does not demonstrate any characteristics or activities that awardees of this visa have—there is no high public profile or leadership of initiatives within the technology ecosystem, no publications in leading tech journals, or keynote speeches at leading global tech events where they have influenced the direction of the field.”
You can learn a lot from the rejections of people who applied before you.
Don’t hope for a miracle.
Work on improving your chances.
